About Me
I would be delighted to babysit and tutor children of any age. I would describe myself as a caring and empathetic individual that would love to be able to ease some stress off working parents by entertaining, playing and teaching children so that parents or guardians can receive well deserved time off while the children can interact with someone new that has brought new energy and games into the home!
My Experience
I have worked as a residential support worker for for the past 2 years, caring for young care leavers and asylum seeking children, helping them transition into independent livening.
I have experience working with highly vulnerable young people and children with mental health difficulties, autism, ADHD and PTSD.
I can provide sympathetic and helpful practical and emotional support to any child that needs it.
I have been volunteering at the YMCA as a mentor for over 2 years now, working with teenagers that need extra support and guidance. It’s a role that I love with a passion and which has inspired me to pursue more opportunities where I can make a difference in a child’s life.
I possess a law degree which I believe (without sounding too big headed) would make me a great tutor in English. I would also describe myself as a quick learner so would be enthusiastic about preparing teaching plans for any subjects.
My Qualifications
I have experience babysitting children and teenagers for over a decade.
2 years experience volunteering with young people at the YMCA and 1 year working as a residential support worker.
Through these roles I have had substancial training on children safeguarding, training from ‘Healthy Surrey’ called ‘make every contact count’ regarding having difficult conversation with people of any age and how to approach such discussions.
I have also have a clear DBS check (available to view upon request)
