About Me

I am a highly motivated individual with a desire to learn in different situations. I am ambitious and enjoy a role where I am face-to-face with individuals. Possessing enthusiasm, drive and a positive attitude required to be successful in any position. Having attended boarding school, I can be empathetic to students who are not used to being away from home.

My Experience

I have taken on several tutoring roles. These include teaching several drama students, and helping them to prepare for LAMDA and GCSE exams. I have also assisted students for A level and GCSE business exams, and am really passionate about this subject which helps me to really engage with students who are struggling in nay aspect. I have obtained a diploma in culinary skills so can also help with any cookery needs.

In April, July and August 2015 – 2018 I have enjoyed a position as “Class Leader” at Mayfield School ‘Spark’ activity camp, where my main roles were managing a group of children around a series of activities and events. The skills required for this position included being engaging and taking responsibility in all situations. I built my confidence throughout the weeks of the job, as well as developing the respect of the children I was leading. This also shows the ability to work individually but also working as a wider team.
During April 2017 and 2018 I expanded my position by leading the work experience volunteers, giving them guidance on how to provide the best possible care and experience for the children. Throughout working at ‘Spark’ I have also had to discuss complaints and concerns with parents ensuring that these were all dealt with maturely and with the aim of finding a solution. I was also given the opportunity to run Drama and Sport session for the children. For this I had to think of original activities, which the children will enjoy.

I have taken on two childcare roles, the first looking after two children (5,7) in which I was responsible for school pick-up, dinner, homework help and occasionally preparing them for bed. The second was as a mother assist for a 2-year-old boy with a broken leg. As the mother had tasks to be completed round the house, I played games, fed lunch or helped with household tasks whilst the mother took over with nappy changing or when he was asleep. I have been able to learn how to take responsibility for a child and respond to what they need, ensuring that they enjoy time spent together and are able to benefit greatly. My fun engaging attitude has proven to help me be successful in childcare roles.

Over summer 2020 I was a full time nanny for a 18th month old boy. This involved be being fully responsible for nappy changes, bath time, all meals and general play. This allowed me a much larger amount of responsibility than previous jobs and I was able to create a strong trusting bond with him, which was especially helpful in getting over his tantrums or during teething. I found this job very rewarding and was able to teach him new words, whilst thinking of new activities to do such as baking, swimming, painting or other art projects.
