About Me
Living in Godalming, Surrey I am currently looking forafter school childcare work.
Although I always did well academically, it is the emotional intelligence gained from ongoing self exploration that I value most highly. This is a crucial skill when caring for young children. At a young age, before our thinking minds have fully developed, we as humans 'feel' the world rather than experience it mentally. Therefore communication and emotional resolution is only available to the carer who can drop into the 'feeling' world of the child and guide them from there.
I am someone who will be able to engage, connect and encourage play along with necessary tasks and daily activities.
I enjoy cooking simple healthy food which I would be happy to do for others. I have recently completed a level 3 qualification in psychology, inspired by the mountain of psychology books on my bedside table lgathered over time. I am also a fairly decent amateur brass player and could support practice of a musical instrument for older children who are learning. As well as the experience listed below, I have worked in cafes and taken occasional basic office roles.
My Experience
From 2009-2013, I worked as a care assistant at the Meath Home epilepsy trust, working with young people with epilepsy and learning difficulties.
I have also regularly looked after children for friends and family and am familiar with the energy and focus required to care for a child.
