Hello! i’m leah, a 24 year old female. I hold a level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care.
I currently work a 9-5 office job, but ultimately this is not what I am passionate about and do not want to work this job forever.
I absolutely love animals and nature, so when the weather isn’t miserable, i’m always finding new places to go for walks and finding the best place to watch sunsets.
My career goal is working with children in some form, i believe it’s the most rewarding career and it never gets boring! I want to make a positive impact on children’s lives as they’re the future and they do not understand the world yet, they need support, guidance and teaching from people who truly care and I believe I am one of those people.
My Experience
Having 3+ years professional experience with children.
At 15, I started off volunteering at primary schools working with children aged 8-9. I helped these children with their work in groups and 1-1.
I previously worked for the NHS on a children’s ward. Working with children from new born to 18 years old. The job required me to have completed a care certificate and thorough training on many topics including; paediatric first AID.
This job enabled to me to look after children with different medical needs and disabilities; which means I am comfortable and confident to look after children who have additional needs.
Many babies got left alone, this left staff to look after them like their own, which I loved doing and i’m good at.
My previous job was as an Early Years Assistant at a private College, this was only a temporary contract so I had to leave. I worked with children aged 3-5 providing support through play and learning. I held 1-1 and group sessions for guided reading and phonics. I assisted children in lessons such as PE, music and French. Every week I set the classrooms up full of new activities for the children which stimulated their gross and fine motor skills and supported their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Working with children is something I have always wanted to do; with aspirations of being a Teacher and one day a Child Psychologist.
I have experience in dance and gymnastics, so I would absolutely love to be able to be apart of a family whose children do those activities.
My Qualifications
I have a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care
Paediatric First Aid Trained
Safeguarding Level 2
My Availability
For the right family I would love to work full-time, however for the meantime:
Weekends- 9am - 11pm
School Holidays- 7am - 8pm
can negotiate times depending on circumstances.
