I am a graduate of Oxford Brookes University where I studied Health and Life Sciences and have various child health diplomas including Ofsted First Aid and Safeguarding Children in Sport and Exercise. I am a very friendly, polite, and trustworthy governess and nanny with 6+ years of experience, now based in London after previously being based in Cyprus, Belarus, and London. I am bilingual- fluent in English and Polish, and beginner level Russian.
I am skilled in providing a safe and stimulating environment for children and my communication skills allow me to build great rapport. Children respond to me like a big sister which allows for strong relationships with families to be made. I am proactive and skilled in delivering fun educational presentations and assisting with homework and tutoring, teaching them manners, new skills such as song writing and playing instruments due to being a musician myself. I am extremely reliable and punctual.
My Experience
Caring for children’s development both academically and emotionally is something I am truly passionate about and after growing up with a younger sister, I have developed a natural sense of love, care and a nurturing attitude towards children since a young age. I landed my first job as a private household weekend governess allowing me to continue to pursue this career. I am extremely dedicated to assisting my students to reach their full potential and am especially good at coaching them for public or private exams and entrance interviews. This allowed my first 2 students to excel in their studies and get into first choice private secondary schools. I am experienced in implementing and sticking to routines with children and all aspects regarding assisting with studies, as well as all nanny duties from bathing to dressing, to attending teacher-student conferences when parents are abroad.
I am both an avid musician/singer-songwriter who enjoys playing concerts nationally and internationally, as well as an active charity volunteer. I successfully organised a charity event for Polish silver medallist and Paralympian Janusz Rokicki, and raised over £1,000 to give him the chance to compete in London 2012 Paralympics by performing my songs on stage. Working as a volunteer for charities teaches me to be understanding, compassionate and polite, allowing me to carry these values forward for the children I work with. In my spare time I also toured Germany and west of Poland with Genesis, Ray Wilson, and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, I toured both the UK and south of Poland with my own band. Other previous achievements I am proud of include working jointly with doctors on the writing, production, and publication of an article on testicular cancer in males in ‘The Practitioner’ journal and being interviewed on Polish National Radio.
I enjoy sport and have been the captain of my university’s netball team. I love animals, visiting galleries, and teaching the children I work with about all aspects of life which enables them to be extremely well-rounded individuals.
