My Summary

My Experience

My first childcare role was in a child-minding setting, where I developed my skills and understanding of what a caring and educational environment looks like. I was then inspired to become a primary school TA for my final work experience; the week that I spent with a reception class solidified my career choice as a teacher. During my gap year I taught English to nursing students in India. Afterwards, I was a nanny for siblings aged six and one-years-old, the age difference and home-schooling element meant I learnt to balance teaching online and the needs of a baby, as well as some light housework and errands. I am currently teaching myself BSL after finishing university to continue my learning. I have been a very involved, loving and supportive older sibling for 11 years now and my experiences have taught me to prioritise safety, kindness, learning and fun. When planning activities I focus on creativity, problem solving and expanding knowledge of the world around us. I believe in combining education into everyday life by involving children of all ages in homely activities such as cooking, baking, cleaning, gardening, reading etc. My approach to communication relies on respectful discussion that allows for collaborative resolution, whether in the context of education, behaviour or general curiosity.

My Qualifications

I have 13 GCSEs, 3 A-Levels and a BA in English and Drama from the University of Queen Mary.

My Availability

I am currently rehearsing for an Edinburgh Fringe production so I will be unavailable twice a week for 3 hours and from the 12th-27th of August. After the 27th of August, I will be available for all weekdays including early mornings and evenings.
