About Me
Perhaps the most important thing to start with is that I am a mum of 2 wonderful children aged 3 and 6. We have chosen to home-educate full time and are enjoying that journey, Our home is full of joy, fun and creativity. We love music, baking, reading, arts and crafts & spend a lot of our time outside in nature.
I believe that it is really important for children to have positive influences in their lives and to build good relationships with safe, trusted adults. My hope in offering childcare to other families is that it does not just fulfil a babysitting need but that my care adds value to the child's life.
I do believe that children learn best when they are able to use their imaginations and so I encourage play with lots of open ended toys - eg duplo/lego, wooden blocks, magnetic tiles. We love games, puzzles and classic read-alouds like Beatrix Potter, Old Bear and poetry books.
I am trustworthy, honest and reliable. Good communication and transparency is incredibly important to me and it is my desire to build a positive relationship with a family where honest feedback can be given.
My Experience
I have had lots of experience working with children of all ages and, before home educating full time, was employed as the youth and schools worker for a charity. I am actively involved in the running of a local music group for pre schoolers and also teach at a home educating co-op where I teach children from the age of 4-16.
I have my 3 year old and 6 year old at home all the time and can provide a safe, friendly and nurturing environment.
I have many years experience as a domestic cleaner and also, obviously, have the experience of faithfully running my own home for the last decade.
My Qualifications
I have been on various training days and courses (both online and in person) related to childcare and am very happy to give detailed experiences, references and to meet in person so that you can decide.
