About Me
I am a second year student at The University of Edinburgh. I have several years of experience in childcare and am looking for a part time job which will fit around my studies, while still being fun and enriching. I am practised in cooking, cleaning and entertaining children. I enjoy curating activities, both educational and recreational, and am very patient and kind. I am available to pick children up from school, take them on day trips, or just entertain them in the home. Due to my years of education I can also provide a service in some private tutoring. This would mostly include English, literacy and help with homework.
My Experience
5 years babysitting experience - I have been babysitting children of all ages since I was 14. This was mainly local families and friends of my siblings. I would put children to bed, play games and read. I was, and am, very flexible about payment.
After school club assistant at a primary school for 2 years - this job was very enriching. I played games with the students, organised snack times and even did some first aid, and food hygiene training.
Tutoring - as a scholar of English Literature, I was asked to help students of GCSE level at All Saints RC School, York, to help prepare for their exams. I very much enjoyed this job, I found it fulfilling to help students to improve their essay skills, while simultaneously bettering my own knowledge of the interesting texts they were studying.
Waitress at Baba Ganoush Catering - this was my first experience of working in the hospitality industry. My role mainly consisted of taking customer orders, serving food and drink and dealing with customer queries. The events here were often very small and intimate and helped me to improve my communication skills.
Waitress at Coffee Culture, York - This is my latest job. I waited tables and did some barista work. It was an even smaller cafe setting, which helped me to build a relationship with customers and staff.
My Qualifications
9 GCSEs at grade 7(A) and above.
3 A-Levels in English Literature (A*), History (A*), and French (A).
2 years of a degree in English Literature and French.
My Availability
This would have to fit around my university schedule, but I am very flexible. I am available most mornings and afternoons, and evenings. Weekends too.
