My Summary
About Me
I'm currently living in Central London while studying, and I’m incredibly passionate about working with children. I’ve spent the past five years gaining hands-on experience through childminding, as well as working part-time in a nursery. One of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had was doing Camp America, where I was responsible for the care and well-being of the ten children in my bunk – a role that really developed my confidence and leadership skills. I grew up on a farm in Northern Ireland, so I’m also very comfortable around animals and confident looking after family pets. I have completed both First Aid and basic CPR training, and I bring a bubbly, enthusiastic personality to everything I do, especially when engaging with children. I truly enjoy creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment for them to thrive in.
My Experience
Over the past several years, I’ve gained a wide range of experience working with children across different ages and settings, both in the UK and abroad. Most recently, I worked as an au pair in Spain for two months, where I was responsible for the daily care of two children—helping with their routines, preparing meals, and engaging them in fun, educational activities while supporting their English learning. For the past five years, I have also consistently babysat for multiple families – most recently for a 5-year-old girl and siblings aged 6 and 8 – supporting with homework, evening routines, and creative play. Alongside this, I have regularly childminded two young girls aged 4 and 6, where I was trusted with sole care, school pick-ups, meals, and planning age-appropriate games and crafts.
For the last two years, I have worked part-time in a nursery, where I gained valuable early years experience including supporting feeding, nappy changes, circle time, and creating a nurturing, stimulating environment. I completed Camp America last year, where I lived in a cabin with ten children and was their first point of contact. My responsibilities included ensuring they were dressed, fed, emotionally supported, and attending all scheduled activities. I also looked after them when they were unwell or homesick, helping them feel safe and cared for away from home.
In addition, I’ve tutored children preparing for their GCSEs in English and Science, helping them build confidence and improve their academic performance. I also completed six months of work experience in a primary school, assisting teachers in classroom management, lesson delivery, and working closely with pupils who needed extra support. One of my most meaningful experiences was volunteering in Uganda, where I worked with children at a church camp and visited their school daily to teach English and organise fun learning games.
These experiences have not only strengthened my childcare skills but have also helped me grow into a confident, caring, and responsible individual with a bubbly and enthusiastic personality that children respond well to.
My Qualifications
When it comes to caring for others—especially children—being prepared is just as important as being passionate. My qualifications reflect a deep commitment not only to excellence but also to safety, responsibility, and continued growth.
I am fully certified in Health and Safety, with First Aid and CPR training that ensures I can respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. These essential skills provide peace of mind to families, knowing that I’m equipped to handle the unexpected with confidence and care.
Academically, I’ve always aimed high. I achieved AAB at A-Level, demonstrating strong discipline, focus, and the ability to succeed under pressure. My success began even earlier, with 9 GCSEs graded B to A*, including AA in Maths and English—a solid foundation that supports my tutoring and communication skills, as well as my ability to plan and problem-solve effectively in real-world settings.
Together, these qualifications form more than just a list—they represent a standard I hold myself to. Whether I’m supporting learning, ensuring a safe environment, or being a reliable presence in a child’s life, I bring both the credentials and the character to do it all with care, skill, and heart.
