About Me

Hi Everyone!

My name is Ffion and I'm a qualified primary school teacher, currently teaching in Hillingdon. I am also a private tutor and really enjoy helping children reach their potential.

I have extensive experience working with chidren aged 4-16
including secondary school preparation, primary school
readiness, EAL, Phonics, Maths, English SATS, 11+ exams, 13+ exams, GCSEs, catch up support and homework support.

l also have extensive experience with SEN - having taught an
SEN class for 2 years and also holding a child psychology
and Early Years Degree. My experience extends to ADHD,
ASD, OCD, Anxiety and Downs Syndrome as well as child
mental health and social and emotional difficulties and Speech and Language support.

I have availability for both in person and online sessions for
after school, weekends and the summer holidays. I am also
available for ad hoc babysitting over the summer holidays.
My philosophy is that learning should be fun - something
that a lot of people seem to say but that doesn't always get
seen in practice. I believe that a child will always gain more
from what you teach them if they feel relaxed, confident and
interested in what is being taught. That is the environment I
foster when tutoring!

One way I implement this is in the initial consultation before I
start tutoring the family, in which I ask the child about what
they are interested in and their perception of their learning. I
then build a tutoring programme that incorporates these
interests into learning. I also regularly check in with the child
and the family to make sure they are happy with the sessions
and enjoying their time with me with regular updates on
progress and attainment.

I have high standards tailored to each child and believe this is key to success.
