I'm a cheerful and responsible psychology graduate with a background in tailoring and a passion for cooking & baking. During school, I was a part-time support worker for a young immigrant child with learning difficulties, as well as a nanny for my neighbour's 3 children (aged 4-10). Whilst at university, I focused more on my career development, but ever since my goddaughter was born 2 1/2 years ago I realised that there was a young and playful energy missing in my life. I enjoy being surrounded by kids and let them show me their world while trying to explain them "ours". I am easy going and reliable, and can currently jump in any job very spontaneously and flexibly.
My Experience
- was a support worker for a 12yo school girl with learning difficulties in Germany. I helped her with homework, took her out to the Zoo and tried to role model socially acceptable behaviour in an empathetic and friendly way
- babysitted my neighbour's 3 children (aged 4-10) on a flexible basis for around 2 years. We ate dinner together, watched movies, read books or played games and I brought them to bed and hosted the house until the parents came back
- was a volunteer supporter for a school class of children with special needs. Me and some of my class mates were coupled up with school children from this other school and we went on a 1-week holiday together were we cooked, played, learned and laughed together. We also had an annual theatre play that we developed with these children and that was presented both at mine and their schools.
- regularly play with my 2 1/2 god child in Berlin who is an absolute angel :))
My Qualifications
I have a First Class Psychology degree and a certificate for children supervision. The certificate was given to me after a 1-week seminar in Germany where we learnt (through theory and role play) about the legal requirements of childcare and basic empathetic behaviour skills. My psychology degree and my Buddhist practice have further deepend my commitment to compassion and friendliness, paired with a good sense of responsibility and reliability.
